Tracklist

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I’ve been waiting for this moment, all my life, Oh Lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord

Well, if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I’ve seen your face before my friend
But I don’t know if you know who I am
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin, I know where you’ve been
It’s all been a pack of lies

And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord
I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, Oh Lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, Oh Lord, Oh Lord
And I’ve been waiting for this moment all my life, Oh Lord, Oh Lord

Well I remember, I remember don’t worry
How could I ever forget, it’s the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, no you don’t fool me
The hurt doesn’t show; but the pain still grows
It’s no stranger to you or me

And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord…

Swing low in a dark glass hour
You turn and cower
See it turn to dust

Move on a stone dark night
We take to flight
Snowfall turns to rust

Seam in a fusing mine
Like a nursing rhyme
Fat man starts to fall

Year in a hostile place
I hear your face
Start to call

And if you think that I’ve been losing my way
That’s because I’m slightly blinded
And if you think that I don’t make too much sense
That’s because I’m broken minded
Don’t keep it…
Inside
If you believe it
Don’t keep it all inside

Strong words in a Ganges sky
I have to lie
Shadows move in pairs

Ring out from a bruised postcard
In the shooting yard
Looking through the tears

Out of the black slate time
We move in line
But never reach an end

Fall in a long stray town
As the ice comes down
Rivers start to bend

And if you think that I’ve been losing my way
That’s because I’m slightly blinded
And if you think that I don’t make too much sense
That’s because I’m broken minded
Don’t keep it…
Inside
If you believe it
Don’t keep it all inside

Each night I taste the silence
Of the words in my throat
Each day we hide in laughter
When they turn round and float

Do you lie back and think of England
As they shout in your face
Stand up and give them flowers
Mary full of grace

Temper’s out of control again
There’s an itch in my soul again
If I scratch it I will rest in peace

Each day I’m in the future
Of a net curtained past
Each day I’m out of pocket
Time didn’t last

Each night I wake up smoking
And my eyes start to sting
Wish I could keep them open
When the trees start to sing

Temper’s out of control again
There’s an itch in my soul again
If I scratch it I will rest in peace

Each night I taste the silence
Of the words in my throat
Each day we hide in laughter
When they turn around and float

Temper’s out of control again
There’s an itch in my soul again
If I scratch it I will rest in peace

I’m a million miles from anywhere, where can I be
Somewhere out on the ocean
Just take a look out on the horizon, what can you see
There’s nothing there for me

I feel shipwrecked, I might as well be shipwrecked
I’m helpless and alone drifting out to sea
I can’t believe what you said to me

Even standing on the corner of a busy city street
I still feel so lonely
Why do you say you want to be with me
But the next day say you don’t

I’m shipwrecked, I might as well be shipwrecked
I’m helpless and alone drifting out to sea
I can’t believe what you said to me
Without you I feel shipwrecked
But I can’t let it show
A million miles away from anywhere, ooh, ooh, ohh

Is it my imagination
Or is it getting darker, are the waves getting higher
I’m a million miles from anywhere
A million miles from anything I know

You know that’s why I’m shipwrecked
I might as well be shipwrecked
I’m helpless and alone drifting out to sea
I can’t believe what you said to me
You know that’s why I’m shipwrecked, shipwrecked
Losing my direction
Please come and rescue me (shipwrecked)
Shipwrecked
Shipwrecked
Shipwrecked
Shipwrecked…

A little piece of something
Falling gently down down down
No one understands you like I do

I’d rather be beside you
Everything we know so well
Tell me what you feel now
Show me what you think of it

It’s not about us anymore
It’s all about the reasons
That we think we’re fighting for
It’s not about hate
It’s not about pain we always feel
I know we have our problems
But we’re not the only ones
It’s not about you it’s not about me
It’s not about anger
It’s more about the loneliness we feel

How can I begin to
Ask for some forgiveness
For all that we have taken
There’s nothing left now

Just a little piece of something
Falling gently down down down
No one understands you no no
Like I do
There’s nothing left now

It’s not about us anymore
It’s all about the reasons
That we think we’re fighting for
It’s not about hate
It’s not about pain we always feel
I know we have our problems
But we’re not the only ones
It’s not about you it’s not about me
It’s not about anger
It’s more about the loneliness we feel

It’s not about us
It’s not about hate
It’s more about the loneliness we feel, can you feel it
It’s not about anger
It’s not about wanting
I know we have our problems
But we’re not the only ones, we’re not the only ones
It’s not about you, it’s not about me…

Some things disappear inside, should I try to run away
If I could I would escape you
I won’t argue anymore, I have lost the will to be
Hope you don’t think I’m ungrateful
Why, why are you laughing
Is it something that I said
I don’t like this place at all, makes me wonder what I’m here for
Someone take this pain away
Dying to see another day
Close the curtains lock the door, left my note upon the stair
In hope you wouldn’t read it
Fake emotions in my head, everything I’ve seen and read
Can’t begin to find a reason
Why, why are you laughing
Is it something that I said
I don’t like this place at all, makes me wonder what I’m here for
Someone take this pain away
Dying to see another day
And I don’t want to be your friend, or pretend I can fit into
I’m incensed, I’m blown away
Dying to see another day
I don’t like this place at all, makes me wonder what I’m here for
Someone take this pain away
Dying to see another day
And I don’t want to be your friend, or pretend I can fit into
I’m incensed I’m blown away
Dying to see another day

Sarah, sweet Sarah, hold me so close to you
Reach out, no reason needed
You’re the one for me, Sarah
You’re the one for me
Like a dream come true, so beautiful
I will be with you forever
And if the nights grow cold, I’ll be there for you
Please don’t make me wait
People surround me, offers of sympathy
I just want to be left alone
Sarah, sweet Sarah, hold me so close to you
Take in all I say, listen carefully
Words I want you to remember
And if the nights grow cold, I’ll be there for you
Please don’t make me wait
People don’t make me wait
People surround me, offers of sympathy
I just want to be left alone
Sarah, I’ll miss you
I don’t regret all that we shared together
Everything I need, given to me

God is my witness I can feel you
There! Before my very eyes, a vision to me
Don’t put out this fire
It’s burning for me, burning for you
Stand within the sunlight, press against me
Take me back to other times, different days
Love I do surrender, it belongs to
Belongs to me, belongs to me
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
There is nothing I can’t see in my mind
A picture of you painted, so vividly
Blood runs through my fingers
And in through
Through my light, through my darkness
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
Wish I could, wish I could see you
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
Son and daughter

Another Saturday night
I’m sitting here at home
Ain’t got nobody
I’m all alone
Sometimes it seems
Like there’s no-one to love me
No more
Oh oh oh

So I put on some jeans
And I head off down town
To look for some fun
But there’s none to be found
Sometimes it seems
Like there’s no one to party
No more
Oh oh oh

Maybe I’m getting old
But I’m not getting grey
Brighten up your life
In that old familiar way
(What you going to do)

You’ve got to swing your bag
(Swing your bag baby)
Let your hair hang down
(Swing it swing it)
Always look behind
Before touching your toes
You’ve got to swing your bag
(Swing your bag baby)
Right around your head
(Swing it swing it)
Whenever your life
Is becoming a drag
Swing you bag

So if watching the box
Becomes top of the bill
Get some insurance
Maybe make out your will
You only live once
But it’s never too late
You can even swing your bag
Up at those pearly gates

Maybe I’m getting old
But I’m not going grey
Brighten up your life
In that old familiar way
(What you going to do)

When I wake, you’re holding me
Like a child to his father
And I can feel the real love
I could love no other

And in your eyes I see innocence
You’re so beautifuly naive
To me you are so beautiful
I could never leave

You’re always in my heart
However far appart
We may be
You’re always in my heart
And my life
You can share with me
Always stay with me

I can’t stand to see you cry
It just breaks me up inside
Takes the whole of my devotion
And waves goodbye

We might not grow old together
But we’ll never be appart
I guess somethings never change
You’re always in my heart

You’re always in my heart
However far appart
We may be
You’re always in my heart
And my life
You can share with me
Always stay with me

From outside our love
I’ll bath in in your water
Without and within I’ll brick down this wall
Always in my heart

You’re always in my heart
However far appart
We may be
You’re always in my heart
And my life
You can share with me
Always stay with me
Always stay with me

Walking across the sitting-room, I turn the television off.
Sitting beside you, I look into your eyes.
As the sound of motor cars fades in the night time,
I swear I saw your face change, it didn’t seem quite right.
…And it’s hello babe with your guardian eyes so blue
Hey my baby don’t you know our love is true.

Coming closer with our eyes, a distance falls around our bodies.
Out in the garden, the moon seems very bright,
Six saintly shrouded men move across the lawn slowly.
The seventh walks in front with a cross held high in hand.
…And it’s hey babe your supper’s waiting for you.
Hey my baby, don’t you know our love is true.

I’ve been so far from here,
Far from your warm arms.
It’s good to feel you again,
It’s been a long long time. Hasn’t it?

The crawlers cover the floor in the red ochre corridor.
For my second sight of people, they’ve more lifeblood than before.
They’re moving in time to a heavy wooden door,
Where the needle’s eye is winking, closing in on the poor.
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
“We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out.”

There’s only one direction in the faces that I see;
It’s upward to the ceiling, where the chamber’s said to be.
Like the forest fight for sunlight, that takes root in every tree.
They are pulled up by the magnet, believing they’re free.
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
“We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out.”

Mild mannered supermen are held in kryptonite,
And the wise and foolish virgins giggle with their bodies glowing bright.
Through a door a harvest feast is lit by candlelight;
It’s the bottom of a staircase that spirals out of sight.
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
“We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out.”

The porcelain mannikin with shattered skin fears attack.
The eager pack lift up their pitchers – they carry all they lack.
The liquid has congealed, which has seeped out through the crack,
And the tickler takes his stickleback.
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
“We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out
We’ve got to get in to get out.”

September ’77
Port Elizabeth weather fine
It was business as usual
In police room 619
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

When I try to sleep at night
I can only dream in red
The outside world is black and white
With only one colour dead
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

You can blow out a candle
But you can’t blow out a fire
Once the flames begin to catch
The wind will blow it higher
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

And the eyes of the world are
watching now
watching now

I can’t see you mama
but I can hardly wait
ooh to touch and to feel you mama
oh I just can’t keep away
in the heat and the steam of the city
oh its got me running and I just can’t brake
so say you’ll help me mama
cos its getting so hard – oh

Now I can’t keep you mama
but I know you’re always there
you listen, you teach me mama
and I know inside you care
so get down, down here beside me
oh you ain’t going nowhere
no I won’t hurt you mama
but its getting so hard – oh

ha ha, ha ha ha ha, ha ha, argh
ha ha, ha ha ha ha, ha ha, argh

Can’t you see me here mama
mama mama mama please
can’t you feel my heart
can’t you feel my heart
can’t you feel my heart oh
now listen to me mama
mama mama
you’re taking away my last chance
don’t take it away
can’t you feel my heart?

ha ha, ha ha ha, ha, argh

It’s hot, too hot for me mama
but I can hardly wait
my eyes they’re burning mama
and I can feel my body shake
don’t stop, don’t stop me mama
oh make the pain, make it go away – hey
no I won’t hurt you mama
but its getting so hard – oh

Now I can’t see you mama
but I know you’re always there
you taunt, you tease me mama
but I never never can keep away
it’s the heat and the steam of the city
oh got me running and I just can’t brake
so stay don’t leave me mama
cos its getting so hard – oh

don’t go no no, don’t go
no no no, don’t go…

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
You been out ridin’ fences for so long now
Oh, you’re a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin’ you
Can hurt you somehow

Don’ you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She’ll beat you if she’s able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can’t get

Desperado, oh, you ain’t gettin’ no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they’re drivin’ you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that’s just some people talkin’
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don’t your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won’t snow and the sun won’t shine
It’s hard to tell the night time from the day
You’re loosin’ all your highs and lows
Ain’t it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin’, but there’s a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it’s too late

In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway American dream
At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected
and steppin’ out over the line
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It’s a death trap, it’s a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we’re young
`Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run

Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs ’round these velvet rims
and strap your hands across my engines
Together we could break this trap
We’ll run till we drop, baby we’ll never go back
Will you walk with me out on the wire
`Cause baby I’m just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta find out how it feels
I want to know if love is wild
girl I want to know if love is real

Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard
The girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors
And the boys try to look so hard
The amusement park rises bold and stark
Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
I wanna die with you Wendy on the streets tonight
In an everlasting kiss

The highway’s jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody’s out on the run tonight
but there’s no place left to hide
Together Wendy we’ll live with the sadness
I’ll love you with all the madness in my soul
Someday girl I don’t know when
we’re gonna get to that place
Where we really want to go
and we’ll walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us
baby we were born to run

Here I am sitting at the airport
Waiting on a plane
Taking me to New York
Choking on my coffee
As a girl goes past
Only funny things seem to make me laugh

When I came I didn’t know that I’d be
Still here a week next Friday
The plane was late
Cause it’s raining outside
Someone stole the engines
And were going to have to glide

But I can’t sit here forever
Cause I want to go hom
Never have I felt so bad
Maybe I’ll just take a cab
Cause I think I’m going mad
Went to the bar to buy myself a beer
Met up with a guy
Who’d arrived last year
Bought myself a whisky
And lit a cigarette
Said the more you seem to drink
Well the easier it gets

So I guess I’m trying to tell you
That if you’re going to fly
Get a set of wings
And kiss your ass goodbye
When you pack your case
Better pack yourself a bed
Cause if you had a wish
You’d be wishing you were dead

A noter la belle chanson “Downside-Up”. Là aussi, pour les collectionneurs donc…

In the big house
Where the sun lives
With the walls so white and blue
In the red soil

All the green grows
And the winds blow across your face
they blow across your heart
It’s the time of the turning

and there`s something stirring outside
It’s the time of the turning
and we’d better learn to say our goodbyes
All the earth breaks

Like a stale bread
And the seeds are folded in the soil
Oh the sun pours
Then the rains fall

While the roots reach right out through the ground.
they reach out through the ground
It’s the time of the turning
and there’s something stirring outside

It’s the time of the turning
and the old world’s falling
Nothing you can do can stop the next emerging
Time of the turning and we’d better learn to say our goodbyes

If we can stand up
When all else falls down
We’ll last through the winter
We’ll last through the storms
We’ll last through the north winds
That bring down the ice and snow
We’ll last through the long nights
till the green field’s growing again.
Growing again.

Did you see it move? There’s something there.
It’s in this very cloth that i weave
In the most peculiar ways that we behave
It’s the time of the turning and the old world’s falling.

Nothing you can do can stop the next emerging
The time of the turning and we’d better learn to say our goodbyes
It’s the time of the turning and there’s something stirring outside.
If you stop for a moment you can feel it all slipping away.

It’s the time of the turning and the old world’s falling
Nothing you can do can stop the next emerging
Time of the turning and we’d better learn to say our goodbyes

Father, son
Locked as one
In this empty room
Spine against spine
Yours against mine
Till the warmth comes through

Remember the breakwaters down by the waves
I first found my courage
Knowing daddy could save
I could hold back the tide
With my dad by my side

Dogs, plows and bows
We move through each pose
Struggling in our separate ways
Mantras and hymns
Unfolding limbs
Looking for release through the pain

And the yogi’s eyes are open
Looking up above
He too is dreaming of his daddy’s love
With his dad by his side
Got his dad by his side

Can you recall
How you took me to school
We couldn’t talk much at all
It’s been so many years
And now these tears
Guess I’m still your child

Out on the moors
We take a pause
See how far we have come
You’re moving quite slow
How far can we go
Father and son

With my dad by my side
With my dad by my side
Got my dad by my side
With me

Brick by brick by brick by brick we’re building.
Brick by brick by brick by brick we’re building.
Brick by brick by brick by brick we’re building.
Brick by brick by brick by brick.

There’s a bump in the basement.
There’s a knocking on the wall.
In the pumping of the pistons.
I swear i heard your call.

There’s a bump in the basement”
There’s a hole in the floor.
There’s a guard in the garden. Locking up the door.
There’s a rumble in the florrboards. No shutting out the sound.

And the workers below me digging underground.
Feel the building all around me. Like a wrap of armoured skin.
But the more we are protected. The more we’re trapped within.

We’re building up and up.
We’re building up and up.
We’re building up and up.
We’re building up and up till we can touch the sky.

Tell it like it is till there’s no misunderstanding.
When you strip it right back.
Man feed machine, machine feed man.

Tell it like it is till there’s no misunderstanding.
You make up what you like.
Man feed machine, machine feed man.

I looked up at the tallest building.
Felt it falling down.
I could feel my balance shifting.
Everything was moving around.
These streets so fixed and solid.

Ah shimmering haze
And everything that i relied on disappeared.

Downside up, upside down
Take my weight from the ground
Falling deep in the sky.
Slipping in the unknown

All the strangers look like family.
All the family look so strange.
The only constant I am sure of.
Is the accelerating rate of change

Downside up, upside down.
Take my weight from the ground
Falling deep in the sky.
Slipping in the unknown

I stand here, watch you spinning
Until i am drawn in.
A centripetal force
You pull me in, Pull me in. Pull me in. Pull me in. Pull me in.

ovo ovo ovo
ovo ovo ovo
ovo ovo ovo

Downside up, upside down.
Take my weight from the ground.
Falling deep in the sky.
Slipping in the unknown.

Put on the dress in which you were married.
Pull down the veil till your eyes are hid.
Can you remember where we both came from.
Let us do as we did.

Look at tomorrow today.
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today

Make tomorrow, make tomorrow, make tomorrow today
Put back the photo under the window.
Put down the phone that you hold in your hand.
Put away these things that stand in between us.
Let us be what we can.

When it seems, hopeless
When it seems, hopeless
Make tomorrow, make tomorrow, make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow, make tomorrow, make tomorrow today
Make tomorrow, make tomorrow, make tomorrow today.

What better measure of what you were doing here.
Than what you can leave behind.
All the children of your children’s children.
Do you ever think what they’re going to find.

Make tomorrow, make tomorrow
Where the sacred meet the scared.
Make tomorrow, make tomorrow
Where the dreamer’s dream is dared.

In each one of us. A dream can burn like the sun.
Let’s try it all one more time. To get this lesson learned.
Sitting up in a spaceship.
Looking down at the earth.

You wonder what they’re struggling for.
What’s it all really worth.
Making tomorrow today
Making tomorrow today.
Make tomorrow, make tomorrow.

Tracklist

No confusion in my mind
I should be with you
So many pieces, too much frustration
No one to blame
Don’t make a fool out of me
Don’t have me wish my life away
Don’t make a fool out of me
Don’t have me wish my life away
No No No No………
No confusion in my mind
I should be with you
So many pieces, too
Much frustration
Don’t make a fool out of me
Don’t have me wish my life away
Don’t make a fool out of me
Don’t have me wish my life away
Don’t have me wish my life away
Don’t have me wish my life away
Don’t have me wish my life away
Don’t have me wish my life away
Don’t have me wish my life away (To End)

Sarah, sweet Sarah, hold me so close to you
Reach out, no reason needed
You’re the one for me, Sarah
You’re the one for me
Like a dream come true, so beautiful
I will be with you forever
And if the nights grow cold, I’ll be there for you
Please don’t make me wait
People surround me, offers of sympathy
I just want to be left alone
Sarah, sweet Sarah, hold me so close to you
Take in all I say, listen carefully
Words I want you to remember
And if the nights grow cold, I’ll be there for you
Please don’t make me wait
People don’t make me wait
People surround me, offers of sympathy
I just want to be left alone
Sarah, I’ll miss you
I don’t regret all that we shared together
Everything I need, given to me

Some things disappear inside, should I try to run away
If I could I would escape you
I won’t argue anymore, I have lost the will to be
Hope you don’t think I’m ungrateful
Why, why are you laughing
Is it something that I said
I don’t like this place at all, makes me wonder what I’m here for
Someone take this pain away
Dying to see another day
Close the curtains lock the door, left my note upon the stair
In hope you wouldn’t read it
Fake emotions in my head, everything I’ve seen and read
Can’t begin to find a reason
Why, why are you laughing
Is it something that I said
I don’t like this place at all, makes me wonder what I’m here for
Someone take this pain away
Dying to see another day
And I don’t want to be your friend, or pretend I can fit into
I’m incensed, I’m blown away
Dying to see another day
I don’t like this place at all, makes me wonder what I’m here for
Someone take this pain away
Dying to see another day
And I don’t want to be your friend, or pretend I can fit into
I’m incensed I’m blown away
Dying to see another day

ey, hey the pain won’t go away
It looks like your worst nightmare’s here and here to stay
Uh huh, year, yeah
O God the son you were so proud of
Wastes away until there’s nothing left to think of
Uh huh, yeah, yeah
Cannot trust in you, cannot hold on to you now
Crying out don’t you touch me, I wish you would go
I’m fine now don’t you touch me, I need to be alone
So cold young man feeling old
Look me in the eye I’m losing all control
Uh huh, yeah, yeah
Cannot trust in you, cannot hold on to you now
Crying out don’t you touch me, I wish you would go
I’m fine now don’t touch me, I need to be alone
I’m dying now don’t touch me, I don’t need you here
For Christsake don’t you touch me, yeah, yeah, yeah
I can’t sleep I’ve fallen in too deep
Time to think about the drug that tastes so sweet
I lay low, it’s best if they don’t know
Pretending nothing’s there just watch your garden grow
You a friend don’t make me laugh, what we had was in the past
I can’t live for yesterday
When I needed you the most flesh and blood became the ghost
Give so much to take away
Reaching out to touch your soul, don’t feel young and look so old
Just a number on the wall, lowest number of them all
Every day seems like the last, finding strength to touch your thoughts
Need to feel my every word
Going on and on and on
On and on and on

From inside there was nothing and from the outside looking in it was worse
Words that meant nothing to no-one echoed across
And the light never shines on the real thing
And the hope is that nothing has changed
For a moment I almost believed him
For a moment I almost believed him
Money couldn’t buy it
Your money didn’t make it work
Millionairhead! Millionairhead!
It was always a short-term thing, the foundations to be built on wee flawed
But it doesn’t really matter, not to us
And the light never shines on the real thing
And the hope is that nothing has changed
For a moment I almost believed him
Foe a moment I almost believed him
Money couldn’t buy it
Your money didn’t make it work
Millionairhead! Millionairhead! Millionairhead!
I almost believed you
Money couldn’t buy it
Your money didn’t make it work
Millionairhead! Millionairhead! Millionairhead! Millionairhead! Millionairhead! Millionairhead! Millionairhead! Millionairhead!

It’s you to blame again, it seems like anger is your only friend
And as the darkness falls in tonight
You watch the shadows crawl across the window to your door
It doesn’t open anymore
Like some indictment on your life
You’re never wrong, but never right
Do you know what you fear, does the morning make it clear
Does it make you feel better when you’re walking away
Will anybody listen to a word
As you lie looking at the ceiling
It’s that old sentimental feeling
Starting over again, starting over again
Just like travelling the wrong way on a one way street
You’ll never be quite sure, whose promises you’ll meet
Falling up the wrong road, falling up the wrong road
Do you know what you feel, does the morning make it clear
Does it make you feel better when you’re walking away
Will anybody listen to a word
Soot the moon, shoot the moon
This must be part of someone else’s plan
Someone show me the answer
Just take me off of this winding road, winding road
Shoot the moon, shoot the moon, shoot the moon,
Do you know what you feel
Will the morning make it clear
Does it make you feel better when you’re walking away
Will anybody listen to a word

No time to break the fall, we run before we crawl
No pill will ease your mind
Just a little bit would make a difference
No words can describe just how much, does it take
To make sense of it, before the young ones grow old
And all wave goodbye
They’ve taken down the wall, so the young ones can taste freedom
And the others have a reason to live
You kill me with your lies
Just a little bit would make a difference
No words can describe just how much, does it take
To make sense of it, before the young ones grow old
And all wave goodbye, all wave goodbye
There’s no where to run to, I can’t get inside
Your tortured mind
Is wasting away
Just a little bit, just a little bit would make a difference
No words can describe just how much, does it take
To make sense of it, before the young ones grow old
And all wave goodbye, all wave goodbye, all wave goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
All wave goodbye, goodbye

You walk out on me, don’t expect me to come running
I won’t disagree if you’d like to take the blame
I won’t be there for you, I just don’t feel the need
You leave me empty
Stay young, live for a reason
There’s no place for a loser here
Your naked remark means nothing to me now
All faith in yourself seems it’s gone to find a friend
I won’t be there for you, I just don’t feel the need
You leave me empty
Stay young live for a reason
There’s no place for a loser here
The same song, sung with no feeling at all
And all the losers gather round
Watch the world come crashing down around them
There’s no place for the chosen few
Who know it all but rarely do astound me, surround me
And al the losers gather round
Watch the world come crashing down around them
They see things in different ways
Watch them spend their final days surrounded, astounded

Ground control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Ground control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown engines on
Check ignition and may God’s love be with you
This is ground control to Major Tom, you’ve really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it’s time to leave the capsule if you dare
This is Major Tom to ground control, I’m stepping through the door
And I’m floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
For here am I sitting in my tin can
Far across the world
Planet earth is blue and there’s nothing I can do
Though I’ve crossed one hundred thousand miles
I’m feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much, she knows
Ground control to Major Tom, your circuit’s dead
Something’s wrong
Can you hear me Major Tom
Can you hear me Major Tom
Can you hear me Major Tom
Can you hear, am I floating on my tin can
Far above the moon
Planet earth is blue and there’s nothing I can do

Watch your friends all pass you by
You’ve got 25 reasons to live, every one is a lie
Now you’re looking everywhere for comfort
The worse it gets, the harder you try
I hear you calling me again, it’s alright, it’s alright
Like a brother or a friend, you’re depending on
As you’re screaming in your sleep, is the needle in too deep
It’s alright, it’s not alright
You’re a stranger in your home
A good for nothing, know it all
Don’t you know we’ve seen it all before
The sadness of it all, you are the cure
I hear you calling me again, it’s alright, it’s alright
Like a brother or a friend, you’re depending on
As you’re screaming in your sleep
Is the needle in too deep
It’s alright, it’s not alright
Now you’re looking everywhere for comfort
The worse it gets the harder you try
I hear you calling me again, it’s alright, it’s alright
Like a brother or a friend you’re depending on
As you’re screaming in your sleep, is the needle in too deep
It’s alright, it’s not alright
It’s alright, it’s not alright

God is my witness I can feel you
There! Before my very eyes, a vision to me
Don’t put out this fire
It’s burning for me, burning for you
Stand within the sunlight, press against me
Take me back to other times, different days
Love I do surrender, it belongs to
Belongs to me, belongs to me
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
There is nothing I can’t see in my mind
A picture of you painted, so vividly
Blood runs through my fingers
And in through
Through my light, through my darkness
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
Wish I could, wish I could see you
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
Lay down on me, naked gypsy
Watching you bathe in water
False childhood lies, fear in your eyes
Give me a son and daughter
Son and daughter

I’m a young man on the edge, with his head held in his hands
A look of desperation touching the fingers he hides behind
I lost my head and made a mess, showing signs of faithlessness
Having other people laughing at you is hard to take
You have all I have to give
You break me into many pieces
I was just beginning to forget
In my mind I’ve tried, can’t make sense of what it is
Wishing one day you could understand
Everything takes time
The thoughts I have, won’t leave me
You say you’ve heard it all before
You sit there like a wall I have to break through
Some drug I didn’t take to
You have all I have to give
You break me into many pieces
I was just beginning to forget
Should I feel anger, should I be patient
Do I belong here, do you have the answers
How long can I hold on
Do I belong, where do I belong
You have all I have to give
You break me into many pieces
I was just beginning to forget
Don’t laugh
Don’t make me
I was just beginning to forget
You have all I have to give
You break me into many pieces
I was just beginning to forget

Tracklist

(instrumental)

Take a trip take a ride
Through darkness don’t be shy
Gather by the clocktower take your seats
Glad you’re here it’s for keeps
Festering wounds from years gone by
Toxic waste you buried inside

In Darktown

Take a turn step on down
Through an alleyway you’ll find
By the backstreet trash resides
The underworld you tried to hide
And from a dark corner where walls loom high
You’ll hear the sound of a small child’s cry

In Darktown

Legions of hate schools of fear
Proudly accomplished their mission here
A hidden agenda behind the eyes
For the gifted ones they most despised
They couldn’t do it in the X-rated world
But presided over the boys and girls

In Darktown

It’s all on camera it’s all on film
On the couch in the shower
The stains are still there
Drink to the one who dished out the marks
Rabid animals right from the start
It’s happy hour shut the beasts away
Come along children it’s time to play

In Darktown

We’ll sit and watch the sun go down
See the wave wash to and fro
The world runs by sailboat slow

We’ll anchor at the sight of land
Never doing all the things we planned
The sun sinks down way below

You pushed a man overboard
In the middle of a stormy sea
The wind blows high the palm trees moan

I think about you night and day
I’m sorry when I hear you say
The coast is clear we’ll head for home

12 years old in Amsterdam in 1939
A blue-eyed boy my clean complexion always got me by
A boy with real potential sold secrets by the score
Where refugees were hiding I’d just point out the doors
In the golden age of steam
I learned those German songs
I had to stay alive there was no right or wrong
In the golden age of steam

The fatherland was rising the world would hear the roar
Both sides fed and trusted me by 1944
Trains ran on time those days oiling the machine
Smoke rose up like serpents
I was barely seventeen
In the golden age of steam

It’s over now but not somehow
I was a hero then to many men

Switzerland was a short ride for a eager blond haired boy
With a silver smile and loaded with jewellery to enjoy
Maybe one day they’ll come for me they’ll take me from my bed
A soldier of fortune that’s what my passport read
In the golden age of steam
In the golden age of steam
In the golden age of steam

When I wasn’t looking I found you
And the nights they don’t seem so long
There are moments when I just can’t believe
That I’ve waited so long

So take me and love me
Don’t ever let me go
Oh take me and hold me
You know I want you so

Cause you’re so precious like the days of long ago

And I fell now that I can make it
Like the sunshine of a new day
All those times of so much confusion feel them drifting away
Feel them drifting away

So take me and love me
Don’t ever let me go
Yeah take me and hold me
You know I love you so

Cause you’re so precious like the days of long ago

So take me and love me
Don’t ever let me go
Oh take me and hold me
You know I want you so

Cause you’re so precious like the days of long ago

Yeah you’re so precious like the days of long ago

A rainy drive on a long straight highway
Can cause time to lose it’s meaning
And the mind to wander far from the act of driving
Interruptions at every curve
No longer jangle against your nerves
A rainbow bridge is not far away

Now you’re standing on the steps of a fountain
On a hot summer’s day

Running along a tree-lined pathway
Slowing your pace until you feel
Your heart beats in rhythm to the first light of day
Now you’re running down a mountain
In the cool blue shade

A waterfall where you lift your head
Colours cascade from green to red
And the fireflies that dance when the light is fading
You drift away on the night ride
With eyes that dream as much as they see
The wind in the willows winding through the grass
The drawbridge of consciousness is lifted at last

Where are you going?
Towards the sky
Between the craters of the sun and the moon
Flying through entrances
Floating free

(instrumental)

Take me where the sun don’t shine no more
And the moon echoes where once was light
The wind is howling but it has no face
I know that we will rise again

We will fly from this city of the dead
Even if our ship flies a pirate sail
Underneath a bruised and broken sky
I know that we will rise again

There are skies of scarlet and skies of grey
I’ll keep them in my heart always
Like the sea loves the land
I know that we will rise again
I know that we will rise again

Take me where the sun don’t shine no more
The wind is howling but it has no face
I know that we will rise again

Rise again

I know that we will rise again

Has Jean Paul Sartre deserted you
Do you still listen to the blues
Is there a needle beside your hand
A poisoned chalice or the promised land
Some doors open some doors close
Do opposites still seem close

Did Ruby Tuesday get to you
Or the caretaker whose film we used
A purple rose that was ignored
The child behind Jane Austen’s door

Oh has your life seemed unkind
With all those friends you left behind
We burned our bridges fast those days
Don’t think about them it doesn’t pay

My drunken guitar Sloane Square tube
Falling backwards me and you
Tumbling over to the floor
You cried inside Jane Austen’s door

So long, so long, so long, so long

Let it die let it go

Heureusement vivre dans une cage
Un homme et femme peut-etre mon age
I’ll take your part when this wheel turns
How many lifetimes it takes to learn

So goodbye goodbye little star
Forgive yourself heal that scar
A purple rose that was ignored
The light inside Jane Austen’s door

Shine on, shine on, so long, shine on, shine on

(instrumental)

For someone else the blues and greens
The dreaming spires the skintight jeans
The armchair armies on the march
The transfer unit tube and mask
Who needs all the endless lies
That serve to keep the world alive
To taste the sweetness of the grave
And not regret mistakes I’ve made

In memoriam, in memoriam

Goodbye to all the angry dawns
Committee meetings pistols drawn
You can keep the rave reviews
The priests the guards the prisons and zoos
Goodbye to all the nation’s pride
Farewell to those all choosing a side
In hut number twelve they’re issuing guns
But only for the choosen ones

In memoriam, in memoriam

For someone else the blues and greens
The dreaming spires the skintight jeans
The armchair armies on the march
The transfer unit tube and mask
Goodbye to all the nation’s pride
Farewell to those all choosing a side
In hut number twelve they’re issuing guns
But only for the choosen ones

In memoriam, in memoriam
In memoriam, in memoriam
In memoriam, in memoriam
In memoriam, in memoriam
In memoriam, in memoriam

Whenever I stop and think about it
There’s still a question in the back of
my mind
Whenever I go, whatever I do
You know it’s with me everyday
Whatever you say you need to
understand
I never want to know that feeling again
No matter how hard I try to forget
I can’t help being the way I am

Well I want you to listen
And I want you to see
I want you back here with me
Just like it used to be
Everything will be easy everything
will be fine
Cos I’ll be different this time

Whenever I stop and think about it
There’s still a question in the back
of my mind
Whenever I go whatever I do
You know it’s with me everyday
Wherever you are I hope you
understand
I’m always waiting for a chance to
make amends
Cos I realise however I try
I’ll never find someone like you

Well I want you to listen
And I want you to see
I want you back here with me
Just like it used to be
Everything will be easy
everything will be fine
Cos I’ll be different this time

Whenever I’m lost I’ll think about you
Try to remind myself how good it can be
Maybe in time you’ll come to realise
Just what you really mean to me

Whenever I stop and think about it
There’s still a question in the back
of my mind
Whenever I go, whatever I do
You know it’s with me everyday

Whenever I stop and think about it
There’s still a question in the back
of my mind
Whenever I go, whatever I do
You know it’s with me everyday

Whenever I stop, stop and think about it
I’m always waiting for a chance to
make amends
Cos I realise however I try
I’ll never find someone like you

As the night comes down
Darkness slowly descends
I am lost and alone again
Now that you’ve gone

As the shadows fall
There’s no place to hide
From the pain I feel inside
Now that you’ve gone
Every thought of you, every memory
Is a ghost that is hauting me
Now that you’ve gone

Now that you’ve gone
How can I go on?
I can’t believe, this could happen to me
Now that you’ve gone
I’ve got to find a way
I need to know life goes on
Now that you’ve gone

There’s a heavy cloud
Hanging over me
It’s part of the legacy
Now that you’ve gone
Everything I do
Seems to make no sense
And I’m losing all my confidence
Now that you’ve gone

Now that you’ve gone
How can I go on
I can’t believe, this could happen to me
Now that you’ve gone
I’ve got to find a way
I need to know life goes on
Now that you’ve gone

I’m just a shadow of the man I used to be
Before you turned me inside out
Your love was all that ever meant
a thing to me
It’s something I can’t live without

No, No
Now that you’ve gone
Losing my way
Don’t let me see
Now that you’ve gone

Now that you’ve gone
How can I go on?
I can’t believe, this could happen to me
Now that you’ve gone
I’ve got to find a way
I can’t believe, this could happen to me
Now that you’ve gone
I’ve got to find a way
I need to know life goes on
Now that you’ve gone

Oh, Oh
Now that you’ve gone
Can’t get away
Oh, Baby
Now that you’ve gone
I’ve got to find a way
Baby
Now that you’ve gone
To letting it go
Baby I need to know
Now that you’ve gone
Cos I need to know
Letting me go
Now that you’ve gone
No matter baby

(Rutherford/Carrack/Young)

So he buys her flowers and
diamond rings
Tries to turn her head around in a
million ways
I realise that it’s hard to resist
his attention
But she just ignores the kinda things
he says

She’s an ordinary girl
She don’t wanna change the world
She still loves me all she can
I’m her ordinary man
If I had the chance to start all over
I know she’s the kind I’ll still be
looking for

Just an ordinary girl
She don’t wanna change the world
And she’s givin’ all she can
To her ordinary man

I don’t know why, why she should
make me feel so fine
I couldn’t give an explanation if I tried

She don’t fool around, given temptation
Even though I know he’d like to
steal her away
Every time he tries, to his frustration
She just turns her head and looks
the other way

She’s an ordinary girl
She don’t wanna change the world
And she’s givin’ all she can
To her ordinary man
Just an ordinary girl
She don’t wanna change the world
And I give her all I can
I’m her ordinary man

Ordinary girl
I don’t wanna change her world
cso she loves me all she can
Just an ordinary man
She’s an ordinary girl
She don’t wanna change the world
And she’s doin’ all she can
For her ordinary man

(Rutherford/Robertson)

I read all the philosophies
The theory ideologies
They leave me cold
I sit around at tables talking
long into the night and when we’re
walking home
You take me by the hand
You say you understand
And this is all the light I need

I know we’ve had our ups and downs
I play the fool I play the clown
Just like a man
I think it wouldn’t be so bad
If only you believed I had some
kind of plan
But as the evening fades
You say you’re going to stay

And this is all the light I need
And these are all the clothes
that keep me warm
You come to me and then
You love me once again
And this is all the light I need

When we found the going tough
You always seemed to have enough
To pull us through
Although I never mention it
I often wonder how I’d manage
without you
You say that in the end
You’ll always be my friend

And this is all the light I need
And these are all the clothes that
keep me warm
You come to me and then
You love me once again
And this is all the light I need

You say that in the end
You’ll always be my friend

And this is all the light I need
And these are all the clothes that
keep me warm
You come to me and then
You love me once again
And this is all the light I need

This is all the light I need
And these are all the clothes that
keep me warm
This is all the light I need
And these are all the clothes
that keep me warm
This is all the light I need

(Rutherford/Robertson)

What will you do
What will you do if you’re left
on your own
What will you do
What will you do when there’s
no one at home?

What will you do when I’m gone
What will you say when you’re out
with our friends
Will you just play them along
And say it was better we quit in the end

What will you do
What will you do with the life
that we made
What will you say
What will you say when the memory fades?
What will you do when I’m gone
Will you admit that I’m not coming back
Will you just never let on?
You have to face it, it’s nearly a fact
What will you do
What will you do?

We said we’d always be together
You said we’d have the longest run
We found that nothing lasts forever
But you’ll always be the one

What will you do
What will you do here when
I’m not around
What will you do
What will you do on the days
when you’re down
What will you do when I’m gone
When I’ll be wandering out of this world
Will you be acting so strong
Will I be losing the fight for this girl?

What will you do
What will you do when it’s over and done
What will you say?
Say it was good when we played
it for fun
What will you do
What will you do when you’re
no longer mine
What will you do
Will you be laughing pretending it’s fine
What will you do
What will you do with the rest
of your life?

(Rutherford/Robertson)

Welcome to my little island
Though it’s not much to look at I know
But it’s somewhere to come
When things have slowed down
You can stretch out and let yourself go

Welcome to my little island
Just relax get away from it all
When the peolple and crowds
Get too noisy and loud
You can slip out and over the wall
Just give my little island a call

When I came to my little island
Well I wasn’t too certain at first
Far away from my friends
And the things I depend on
I guess I had feared for the worst
Now all my reservations reversed

Come on over to my little spot
Where it’s never too cool and it’s
never too hot
You can dance on the beach
You can reach for the stars in the sky

Welcome to my little island
This is paradise you can’t deny
And we all journey here
When we’ve conquered our fears
Are you willing to give it a try?
Then wave your little island goodbye

Come on over to my little spot
Where it’s never too cool and it’s
never to hot
You can dance on the beach
You can reach for the stars in the sky
Welcome to my little island

(Rutherford/Robertson)

Don’t ask me why should it always be
So hard to let my feelings show
I’ve thought it over a thousand times
Why you didn’t leave, I’ll never know

Now I assume you can read my mind
I don’t understand why you’re confused
I know you’re making a big misstake
If you really believe you’re being used

I’ve never really let you know just
what you mean to me
But how I wish you’d let me try again

If I could see you now
I’d open up my heart
And tell you everything
I should have all along
If I could see you now

Sometimes I feel I could lose my mind
If you don’t believe me when I say
I’ll do my best to do right this time
I’m trying to change everyday
I’ve never really let you know just
what you mean to me
But how I wish you’d let me try again

If I could see you now
I’d open up my heart
And tell you everything
I should have all along
If I could see you now

I’d tell you everything that’s in my heart
I only wish that I could see you now
I’d open up my heart
Tell you everything
I should have all along
If I could see you now
I’d open up my heart
If I could see you now

(Rutherford/Neil)

When I get over you
I’ll be who I want to be
I’ll sleep where I want to sleep
And laugh at your memory

When I get over you
I’m not gonna need a friend
I’m not gonna tell the truth
I’ll never do that again
You’ll never see me cry
You’re gonna see something new
You’re not gonna watch me die
When I get over you

When I get over you
I won’t make the same mistake
I don’t wanna hear your voice
I don’t wanna see your face
I know it’s all in the past
And it’s long overdue
I know that I won’t look back
When I get over you

Did somebody teach you how to lie
And take what you’re feeling from
your eyes
It’s a sad disguise
Take it off and say goodbye

You’ll never see me cry
You’re gonna see something new
You’re not gonna watch me die
When I get over you

Did somebody teach you how to lie
And take what you’re feeling from
your eyes
It’s a sad disguise
Take it off and say goodbye

When I get over you
I’ll be who I want to be
I’ll sleep where I want to sleep
And laugh at your memory

When I get over you
I’m not gonna need a friend
I’m not gonna tell the truth
I’ll never do that again

When I get over this
I won’t make the same mistake
I don’t wanna hear your voice
I don’t wanna see your face

(Rutherford/Carrack)

Still waters always run so deep
I’ve heard you cry in the night
And talk in your sleep

Why would you want to
Keep it all inside?
Now you’re alone
With nothing but your pride

If only you’d listened to me
Cos I still want you now
I don’t want to be free
If only you listened to me
Cos I still feel the loss
And it won’t let me be

I’ve tried talking long into the night
but nothing that I tried to say
Ever came out right

There’s no point in crying
My tears have run dry
I hope that you’re satisfied

If only you’d listened to me
Cos I still want you now
I don’t want to be free
If only you listened to me
Cos I still feel the loss
And it won’t let me be

(Rutherford/Robertson)

I know I let you believe
You weren’t important to me
And now it’s safe to assume
That you’ll be leaving me soon

Well I won’t analyse it
I know I’ve been a pain
But I must emphasise
My need to explain

I’m asking for the last time
Is there anything
I can do to change your mind
I’m asking for the last time
Before you walk away
From this heart of mine

Don’t say we’re over and done
Before we’ve even begun
Maybe you’ve made a mistake
Don’t leave me for heavens sake

But I won’t agonise
If you leave me behind
But still I recognise there’s doubt in
your mind

That’s why I’m asking for the last time
Is there anything
I can do to change your mind
I’m asking for the last time
Before you walk away
From this heart of mine

No I won’t agonise
If you leave me behind
Cos I still recognise there’s doubt in
your mind

That’s why I’m asking for the last time
Is there anything
I can do to change your mind
I’m asking for the last time
Before you walk away
From this heart of mine

I’m asking for the last time
Is there anything
I can do to change your mind

I’m asking for the last time
Before you walk away
From this heart of mine

(Rutherford/Carrack/Young)

Always listen to your heart
Always listen to your heart

Don’t make the same mistakes
The ones that I have made
The consequence could lead you to an
early grave
This is my best advice
To one so young and brave
Always listen to your heart
Always listen to your heart

We live in stressful times
It’s hard to make ends meet
Sometimes it’s hard to know
The way to point your feet
Life, sometimes devious
Can fool you with deceit
Be sure to listen to your heart
Always listen to your heart

It’s only just begun
Your precious life
One day you’ll identify right from wrong
So don’t fail to be strong

Always listen, listen to your heart
Always listen, listen to your heart

Never tell a lie honest from the start
Just take good care of it
Don’t let it fall apart
Be sure to listen to your heart
Always listen to your heart

It’s only just begun
Your precious life
One day you’ll identify right from wrong
So don’t fail to be strong

Always listen, listen to your heart
Be sure you don’t just let it fall apart

Be sure to listen to your heart
Always listen to your heart
Be sure to listen to your heart
Be sure to listen to your heart
Always listen to your heart
Always listen, listen to your heart
Be sure you don’t just let it fall apart
Always listen to your heart
Be sure to listen to your heart
Always listen to your heart
Be sure to listen to your heart

(Rutherford/Carrack)

Did you see me coming
Did you see I was there for the ride
Was I wasting time when I thought that I
Was with somebody with nothing to hide

Do you think about it
Did the thought even enter your head
Was it by design like the perfect crime
Did you mean every word that you said

I’ve tried putting myself in your place and
I still feel the same
You’ve been looking to find an excuse
There’s nobody else you can blame

Did you see me coming
Could you see me a good mile away
Did I talk to much
Did I laugh to loud
Was there something that I didn’t say
Can I tell you something
Just in case you don’t already know
Well it’s crossed my mind
More than once that I
Should have left a long time ago

Sometimes you make it look easy
To somebody like me
One day you’re gonna turn around
And I’ll be a bad memory

Did you see me coming
Did you see I was there for the ride
Was I wasting time when I thought that I
Was with somebody with nothing to hide

Do you think about it
Did the thought even enter your head
Was it by design like the perfect crime
Did you mean every word that you said

I’ve tried putting myself in your place and
I still feel the same
You’ve been looking to find an excuse
There’s nobody else you can blame

(Rutherford/Robertson)

Look across at dreamland
Can you see the light
Look in the reflection
For something bright
Look up to the heavens
Can you see the stars?
You know you’re here
But you don’t know who you are

Look across at dreamland
Tell me what you see
Can you see the river
Flowing free?
Gaze upon the water
Can you see the truth?
You know it’s here
But don’t know if it’s you
you may be someone
Who’s needing someone to love
To love

Look across at dreamland
Can you see yourself?
Can you tell there’s magic
With someone else?
Look up to the heavens
That’s the mystery
It’s up there, it’s here
With you and me
If you’re with someone
Who gives you someone to love
To love

Look across at dreamland
Can you see the stars?
You know you’re here
But you don’t know who you are

Look across at dreamland
Can you see the stars?
You know you’re here
But you don’t know who you are

5/5

You’ll be in my heart alors forcement…).

Put your faith in what you most believe in
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fade decide
To guide these lives we see

A paradise untouched by man
Within this world blessed with love
A simple life, they live in peace

Softly tread the sand below your feet now
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fade decide
To guide these lives we see

Beneath the shelter of the trees
Only love can enter here
A simple life, they life in peace

Raise your head up
Lift high the load
Take strength from those that need you
Build high the walls
Build strong the beams
A new life is waiting
But danger’s no stranger here

No words describe a mother’s tear
No words can heal a broken heart
A dream is gone, but where there’s hope

Somewhere something is calling for you
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fade decide
To guide these lives we see

(Collins)

Come stop your crying
It will be all right
Just take my hand
Hold it tight

I will protect you
from all around you
I will be here
Don’t you cry

For one so small
you seem so strong
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
can’t be broken
I will be here
Don’t you cry

‘Cause you’ll be in my heart Yes, you’ll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

You’ll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You’ll be here
in my heart always
Always

(Collins)

Oh, the power to be strong
And the wisdom to be wise
All thise things will
come to you in time
On this journey that you’re making
There’ll be answers that you’ll seek
And it’s you who’ll climb the mountain
It’s you who’ll reach the peak

Son of man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you’ll walk tall with pride
Son of man, a man in time you’ll be

Though there’s no one there to guide you
No one to take your hand
But with faith and understanding
You will journey from boy to man

Son of man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you’ll walk tall with pride
Son of man, a man in time you’ll be

In learning you will teach
and in teaching you will learn
You’ll find the place beside the
ones you love
Oh, and all the things you dreamed of
The visions that you saw
Well, the time is drawing near now
It’s yours to claim it all

Son of man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you’ll walk tall with pride
Son of man, a man in time you’ll be

Son of man
Son of Man’s a man for all to see

Whatever you do, I’ll do it too
Show me everything and tell me how
It all means something
And yet nothing to me

I can see there’s so much to learn
It’s all so close and yet so far
I see myself as people see me
Oh, I just know there’s something
bigger out there

I wanna know, can you show me
I wanna know about these
strangers like me
Tell me more, please show me
Something’s familiar about these strangers like me

Every gesture, every move that she makes
Makes me feel like never before
Why do I have
This growing need to be beside her

Ooo, these emotions I never knew
Of some other world far beyond this place
Beyond the trees above the clouds
I see before me a new horizon

I wanna know, can you show me
I wanna know about these
strangers like me
Tell me more, please show me
Something’s familiar about these strangers like me

Come with me now to see my world
Where there’s beauty beyond your dreams
Can you feel the things I feel
Right now, with you
Take my hand
There’s a world I need to know

I wanna know, can you show me
I wanna know about these
strangers like me
Tell me more, please show me
Something’s familiar about these strangers like me

…I wanna know
